Health Insurance Termination Right: Special Rules

When your health insurer raises its additional contribution, you can switch by the end of that month without the 12-month binding period. Details below.

Definition of the health insurance termination right

The health insurance termination right allows you to switch earlier when your statutory health insurer raises its additional contribution (Zusatzbeitrag). You terminate by the end of the month from which the additional contribution is first charged or raised. The twelve-month binding period does not apply in that case.
